Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all of you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! I know my belly is full with yummy dressing, turkey, ham and pumpkim pie :) There's nothing quite like spending time with the family. With me being the youngest and finally moved out of the house, its the one time of the year we all get to get together and remember how big and wonderfully blessed of a family we really are. Sure, we've all had our ups and downs along with disputes, but in the end its we'll always be family.

Like I said, i'm trying to post on my blog more, so this was just a quick note to all of you! Stay safe and enjoy all the holidays that are coming up :)

Life

Wow, how life can change in such a short ammount of time! Last time I posted, I spoke about AP exams and studying in high school and here I am in college taking courses. Its a bit much to comprehend!

Moving away from the sappy stuff, right now I'm visiting home for Thanksgiving. I'm actually pretty addicted to college, so being seperated from it is something I don't really life; however, it feels nice to be at home and see my family.

I'm planning a baby shower right now for my sister-in-law. Its a boy and they're going to name him Ryan which actually means Little King. So, I went to Party City and they actually had a set for baby boys that said, "Little Prince," so of course I bought it! I've never thrown a baby shower before, but I'm pretty excited :) If you guys are interested I'll post pictures of it later, it's post dated for December.

Well, that's about ti for now. Hope you enjoyed this short update and so sorry that its been so long since i've posted on here!

Midterms

I know that I'm very organizaitonal when it comes to school work, but that does not necessarily mean that I enjoy studying for school. I just know the tricks of the trade to help me study. Friday aka tomorrow, I have my AP Lit and JROTC midterms. I've heard ony horror stories about the AP Lit Midterm exam. Even those in the past who've continuously made straight A's in my teacher's class would receive a grade of no higher than 73. No one has made an A on her midterm. Ever. Lml (love my life). As for the ROTC exam, I've taken so many tests and midterms in the last in the past three years, I know the format like the back of my hand. Everything is straight memorization and fill in the blanks; without a word bank. Lml.

As for Monday, I'll have my AP Cal exam. Thank God there's only one on Monday, and it'll be one of the more difficult ones so I have all weekend to study. Math is not my strong point. On Tuesday, I'll take Biology 2; once again, only one midterm. Then, on Wednesday, I'll take AP US History, which I have no idea what to expect for that, but I don't view it as anything too intense. So, in reality tomorrow is going to be my hardest day, and what am I doing right now? Blogging. Dear God.

School has started back, much to my dismay. I know i'll get back into the habit soon enough, but I enjoyed my break so much. Unfortunetly for me, my school decided to post exams after Christmas break, so I have to get back into my schedule quickly so I won't fail. Lovely.

As an update, I'm keeping myself busy by reading. I have so many books I want to real: the new House of Night book that came out today, the next Pretty Little Liars (the one after Heartless, it's the most recent one out), the Luxe series, Vampire Academy, the Shopoholic books and The White Queen. Yeah... I know haha, for right now I'm reading 24 Girls in 7 days by Alex Bradley, and its cute.

Let's not forget to mention the extremely exciting event that occured today at 11:25. I walked into my AP US History class and there is a little Cocker Spaniel sitting in front of my desk; so presh! Turns out he was lost, and one of the Custodians brought him to my teacher. My teacher, we'll call him Clev, is one of my favorite teachers ever. He's been wanting to get a dog for his little girl, but this dog had a collar. He wanted to wait to make sure we would try returning the dog to it's rightful owner before he took him. So, we named the dog Reginald Winston aka Duke. Bahhhahahaha hey, I'm a nerd; we all are! So anyways, I took Duke home with me and fed him and gave him water. Later, that night me and Dad went out to neighboring houses and asked if they had lost a dog. No one claimed they had, so I took it to my teacher's house. He's going to take additional steps, but that dog was honestly the cutest thing ever!

Amazing Church Service

So something so extremely cool happened today while I was in church. To give some background information, my church is one of the largest in the area i live in. We typically have two services on Sunday mornings; however, due to the holidays we made today's service one big one instead. My preacher was on fire today, really preaching about starting off the year right with God. He goes overtime, not that anyone noticed, and begins to make the alter call. As we bow our heads, suddenly the fire alarm goes off. He have a huge sanctuary in which over three thousand people were there today, and there were at least fifteen alarm signalers within the santurary. The lights were flashing, and an automated voice spoke saying, "There is a fire within the building; everyone please stand and calmly make your way out of the santuary to outside." A few people scrambled out of their pews and hightaled it out the door, but almost all three thousand people remained in their seats as the Pastor told everyone to remain calm and we rebowed our heads and continued in prayer. The alter was full with bowed bodies as we prayed and returned to our seats. The alarm had shut down our sound system, so with the alter call we had no mikes for the singers. The piano could be heard clearly with the faint sound of our two lead singers singing. As they followed with the second verse, the whole congregation began singing along, giving me goosebumps. God was truly in the moment. We later found out that it was down below in the nursery that a young child had pulled the lever out of curiosity and sounded the alarm hahahah. Anyways, I just thought it was so completely amazing that with a potential fire raging in the building, almost everyone remained in their pews instead, and prayed. It really reminded me of the power of prayer and faith. Hope everyone has a happy Sunday! =)

New Years

So it's the first day of a new year, 2011, and what am i doing? Sitting in my bed reading a book; gah i've become so lazy over this winter break haha. Unfortunetly, there's still plenty of schoolwork left to do, but I've finished a third, and i can squeeze in the rest before I head back. I never made a New Years Resolutions video, just because I couldn't decide if I wanted to do one or not. However, I decided I'd just make a blog post instead. So, I don't have many, but here's how they go:

1.) Continue reading. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and something I've always enjoyed.
2.) Lead a healthier life. This includes eating better, and exercising more.
3.) Have a better relationship with God. Meaning, I will have more daily time with him, and getting more envolved with a youth group, err or college ministry I guess.
4.) Continue doing well in school. College is gonna suck, but I don't want my grades to slip.
5.) At least put up one or two videos on YouTube a week. I have so much fun with YouTube, it's just harder to do it with school in session, because that means I have to film super early in the morning when lighting isn't so hot.

So there are my five New Year's resolutions. Haha, nothing to hard, it'll just be harder to stay dedicated to them. SO anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the post!

The Day After Christmas

So having a laptop definetly makes me want to blog a lot more. It's a lot more comfortable sitting every night on my bed blogging, rather than at my computer with my desktop. So, be expecting a lot more blogs! =)

Ok, so today is the day after Christmas. I got up at 7:30 ready to head over to the mall and shop, but was stopped by the evil weather. It had snowed yesterday, and throughout the night, it turned to ice. The roads were terrible, and I had to wait till 11 before I could head to the mall. Most of the items were already gone by then, but I still managed to find some cute outfits with the help of my fashion savvy boyfriend. I got some stuff from New York & Company, one of my all time favorite stores, Express, which this was my first purchase from them ever, and few small things from Bath and Body Works. Definetly loved shopping with my boyfriend, he's amazing to shop with =) I'll be filming a video tomorrow showing you guys everything that I got, so stay tuned for that. (www.youtube.com/stephallijane23)

On Tuesday I'll be heading up to the mountains for some skiing. I've only been once before, and that was with my church. This will be my first trip ever without parental supervision. Talk about exciting! =) It'll be me, along with my boyfriend and my best friend, Kelsey, and two other friends. Chris will be driving, it's about an hour and a half away from where we will, so we'll be on the road for a while. That's ok though, me and Kelsey have already planned out the idea of road trip food haha. Just pray that none of us get any injuries. Most of us are skiing, but Chris is a snow boarding type of guy, but that's ok bc snowboarding is sexy for men ;)

So anyways, trying to keep this blog post somewhat short. Hope you liked it! Stay tuned for more =)
